Beaufort County has 587 square miles of islands, 64 larger ones and 2,000 smaller. Our beaches and waterways are what makes the Lowcountry Islands what they are. Although you can enjoy Beaufort and Hilton Head Island without boating, you have missed a very special part of what makes our community so unique if you do not spend some time out on the water.
